"...The FCC would reduce the number of field agents from 63 to 33, reduce the number of director positions from 21 to five and cut support staff as well under the plan.
The agency would shrink the number of field offices from 24 to eight. The field offices to remain open would be in or near New York City, Columbia, Md., Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco...."

Thank you Rich Powers for posting this story.
So far the FCC is "considering" these closures, but it occurs to me it might be a political move to ultimately gain more power and expand enforcement.
Also, the new "Neutrality Rules" have been posted and you might be able to find links in the same link posted by Rich Powers, above, but I'm not sure. This is all happening right now, near the end of the week.
Amazing! Only 33 people to travel to all areas of such a vast country to find someone exceding field strength with a hobby radio station. Even if someone reports you it would take them years?! to get around to it with the backlog they have. And unless you are causing a major problem someone a few percentage points over the legal limit wouldn't be priority.
I wonder how many field agents there are here for all of Canada?
Mark
The first lie about the FCC's Net Neutrality Rules is that it's 230-pages.
We now learn that it's 400-pages.
