Guys this is really a great trasnmitter and made of Metal not cheap plastic.  The inside is well constructed and with the 75 Ohm output allows for a ATU or modified ATU that will allow more of that 92.5 mW it puts out of the final to actually get to the antenna.  It has an AGC so you can use this with NextKast and get nice sound.  Its a good TX for those wanting an easy to use TX that has room to grow due to the 75 Ohm output jack.  Plus it has the auto tuner for the wire antenna that comes with it.  Could be used for mobile part 15 AM and you can lock the TX on frequency by removing the key.  Good luck and enjoy it.

Checked and for $195 you get the "original" unmodified for better audio version.

Not the revised one with enchanced audio and modulation.

That is still $249

I have the Advanced Talking House TH 5.0 and on the box it says Advanced Talking House and the manual says iAM.  The Mic even says Talking House.  So which one is hat?

What you have is the original Talking House. The iAM units have a blue display and the sticker on the bottom says iAM instead of TH 5.0 or V

So was the Audio modified to sound better or what?  On my clock Radio it did sound quite nice.  On my boombox not quite as nice but I think the AM receiver is not that good on the boombox.  The car Radio didn't seem to sound bad either.  I didn't really hear a lot of Album Rock on the car Radio but I did hear the music from the a1audionetworks.com ad I play on the station.  It sounded good too and was not crappy sounding.  So was the audio modified at all?  Can't complain for what I got it for but just wanted to know.

The originals wre made for speech for selling houses...even the 5 model.

When radiosystems(I AM radio) took over their engineers changed some parts on the originals for better audio and for more modulation and raised the price. They still sell the unmodified ones for less but if you order the "factory enchanced" model it's the original with custom improvements before it's sent out. Like the other post said the new ones have different labelling and maybe a different color display.

If I were to ever go AM that's the one I'd get.....Don't have to build myself, and a HELL of lot less money! for more bang for the buck.....digital display and auto-tuning. The Procaster for example is $700US! Thats close to $850 Canadian!!  Rediculous.

I mis-read it.  Even at $249 it's a good deal for a beginner or someone with little cash.
