I have a question for everyone. I noticed that members log in, post something or reply to a post, then immediately log out and hang in as "guests"...then re-log back in to post again or reply again.

Why is that? Why not stay logged in and proudly display your membership on the left over there for all to see?
I think that if more guests to the Part 15 site see members actually logged in instead of the guest count hitting 10+, that might encourage them to sign up and participate!

Now that it gets mentioned, I've wondered about the same thing. I have often stayed logged in for two days straight, but other times I log out right away because I notice I'm the only one on line.
Here's another angle on the same question... sometimes I see members logged in who don't post at that time. If not posting, why be logged in?
Perhaps those who stay logged in but do not post got interrupted or something and forgot they were logged in?
Multitasking tends to do that....forget a window or two are left open in the task bar. If only there was reminder warning in the OS...like a very chilly brush of air to grab the attention! "Hey close that window!"

A advantage of logging on here even if not posting is that it enables you to easily spot the "new" post shown in the "recent post"
If you install new software or updates and restart, often Windows will lose it's current login status and part15.us doesn't know the difference, so you have to re-login. Happens more than you might think ... Windows 7 is constantly (almost every day) wanting me to install new updates.
SOAPBOX DERBY: I hate Windows ... IMO, worst op sys ever perpetrated on computerdom, right along with Intel chips, both of which get released waaaay before adequate testing ... and they're running the world. How scary is that, eh? Where's Bill Mensch when we really need him?
Can you make a bit more room on that soapbox Ken ?
I'm right there with you. Windoze. Being the most popular does not mean you're the best. Just means you're good at marketing ....
