While I certainly disagree with the tenor, as well as the content, of some of the posts, I don't think closing the threads is constructive either. There's a lot of power in the person who has that capability, particularly when it isn't for blatant violation of the basic rules of the Forum, which I don't have in front of me at the moment, but are probably things like personal name calling, language, etc. I know that there's always Moderation in any Forum, but what has happened all seems a bit arbitrary.
Well, this makes a decision I've been pondering a whole lot easier. I'm outta here, at least until that changes.
Happy Part 15-ing, everyone, and good luck.
Sorry to see this ArtisanRadio.
You seemed like a beacon of reason in an unreasonable situation.
Like I told kc8gpd, you'll be back. It's an additction.
Well, there were exactly two threads which were "closed" meaning further comments in them are not enabled. On the one hand I read griping about the repetition and about folks saying the same thing over and over and then when I try to do something about it the griping focuses on this.
Despite my closing of these two threads this forum is lightly moderated and some things are tolerated which I feel shouldn't be but I have exercised restraint.
Try to see the forums through the eyes of a newcomer or a visitor and keep this in mind as you post.
We are working on some guidelines to posting and some other changes so please be tolerant as this is worked out.

I am only one opinion but this website has been tremendous in its BANDWIDTH of allowing points of view to swing all over the board on many issues in addition to part 15 low power radio.
Not only do I praise the website, I also speak very kindly of the members who are truly gentlemanly (and I do wish gentle-womanly, but sigh, part 15 has not attracted women) in their dialogue, be it occasionally fisty.
Probably on the web there are few places where participants have been so restrained, while being firm and determined, but ALWAYS being civilized.
Members speak out in support of each other on this website.
Perhaps things are just fine.
Aside from the regular radio stuff
I have messed around with all of my
life - there were two things I wanted
to do.
1) Make a working Part 15 AM outside
installation that could go beyond my
yard and maybe even cover some of the
town. I'll get back to that in a minute.
2) Make a really really really sensitive
crystal set. I haven't done that yet.
Getting back to number one: I achieved it.
This board showed me the way.
I don't know about the other subjects but
I believe the primary purpose of this board
is to advance Part 15 radio communication.
Before this board there was the Medium Wave Alliance.
Before that, as far as I know, there was nothing.
Please don't misunderstand me. I really really
don't know about the political part. I like
every single one of you. I haven't met a single
person here that I don't like. You are all
good people.
Neil made a decision. I'm sure it wasn't an
easy one. You can agree or not agree, but
he did what he thought was right. I have to
support him on that. And I don't know what the
right answer is.
I have to go now. GNAT is much smaller
than DRS2 was. This is very much like
our part 15 friend who has his whole
station is a clothes closet.
I think there are moths in here.

I'm stuck in here. Could you
open the door?
Oh yeah, you live far away.
Can I get pizza delivery in here?

Rather than pursuing this in public I suggest that comments, positive or negative, and suggestions be submitted via the CONTACT button on the left. This way no one need be defensive nor take sides.
Thanks,
Neil
I like you all very much.
I'll use the contact button
for anything else beyond this,
if needed.
