Wind is an interesting force, and I do believe that main stream science: meteorology, earth sciences and the like, teaches that movements of wind are generated by solar influence.
I am always fascinated by the fact that it can be very windy in one location but very calm in another.
Does the wind move radio frequency energy that happens to be traveling in the air?
If the wind had metal elements in it, like metal vapors or particles, then yes it would affect EM fields like that of chaff affecting radar signals.
Then if we had metal vapor or particles in our air, we would be able to eat fire and drink lava.
What does affect EM fields in our atmosphere are magnetic flux changes that occur, and the impact of the solar wind upon the magnetosphere, which is basically a bunch of emitting EM fields of incredible intensity from the Sun. This is why during the day, certain bands are affected in one way, and then at night, in another.
Anxiously awaiting the results of the first tie in to the big grid! 🙂

Tell me about it!! As of right now, it looks like I'm going to have to sell off gear (microphones, digital recorder, compressors, reverbs, mixing console, studio monitors, etc. etc.) and close the studio because it isn't paying its way and I can no longer afford the rent because of a couple thousand $$ co-pay left from my last surgery ... and it wasn't even that heavy, compared to my musician friend on Orcas Island who recently survived a heart attack. He'll be lucky to afford his property taxes this year.
It's going to be rough ... means I won't be able to record nor operate my Part 15 station in the studio I spent 6 years building.
Healthcare in America sucks, but I have no idea how to fix it, or I would do as usual and offer some sort of solution whether it works or not.
I think I'll gather some more data and do a show about it.
"Healthcare in America sucks"
I do not want to even think how bad it will be come 2014 when the required health insurance thing becomes law for the entire nation. If one does not have any health insurance, you end up with a 750 dollar fine payable to the IRS.
Now how did the IRS ever become involved with health care or health insurance???
Will be interesting to see how it all turns out.
That really does bite about having to sell the studio gear you spent all that time building. I am scrambling trying to hang on to as much as I can..but already I have had to let go of one piece of gear recently...and I know how your feeling.
I wish I had a solution. About the only thing I can think of is a mass protest and we all ban together and just say "NO"!

Ken, you're not alone.
Nobody knows this, but I'm fighting
foreclosure. We have a lot of sickness
in this family, in addition to my eye
situation. I'm not blind enough to
get financial assistance, but I can't
drive, and reading is very difficult.
I do not know now how long we will be in this
house. We have been here 21 years, but
the future is uncertain.
I say this not to make you feel worse, but
hopefully to help you feel better. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
WE ALL have to maintain a sense of humor. And we are
all friends on this board. AND we are here for each
other.
Fortunately or unfortunately, Carl Blare's brand
of humor has saved me from going crazy. As long
as I have Carl's shows to listen to, I am OK.
Don't worry Carl, there is no pressure for you
to make more. There are enough of them for me
to listen to for a long long time.
And to the tech guys, who I find inspiring -
Neil and RFB, just to mention two - you guys
have kept me going, too. I'm sure I have
left to lot of you guys out, but Neil and RFB
come to mind right now. (My brain is not
all there, that's for sure.)
A couple of days ago, a new manager in one
of my jobs found out the details of my eye
situation, and he said, "That's good, you're
fighting it Bruce - keep going." That was
one of the nicest things I ever heard anybody
say, and I barely know this guy.
Yes, this country is going through a ridiculous
time.
But we are here, and in spite of the disappointments,
and the loss of people and things that we like, we
still need to have fun. And this is the place
to do it. I may have to box up all of my radio
stuff and sell/throw away/store it. So be it.
But not today or tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm going to
work on the Carrier Current transmitter. Because
it's fun. And Ken, I have thought of you a lot.
You are a GREAT GUY! Keep going forward. We need
you to do that.
We are here together and we are a wonderful unique
talented group. Let's enjoy what we are doing.
And now for some really stupid humor.

the federal government is doing the exact same thing that they locked up john gotti for.
the system is corrupted completely from child support system (states actually have income from C.S. collected and late fees, interest figured into their yearly budget) to tax system (the IRS doesn't even understand their own tax code), to healthcare(the whole HMO system was designed via backroom deals in the 70's to drive up costs and make $$$ for insurance companies).
then i need not even get started on the NDAA recently signed that allows the USA to lock US citizens up indefinitely in fema camps (which are starting to come alive and be staffed) without a right to legal counsel. seems someone did that back in the 30's and 40's and we went to war in an effort to stop it. then there is the likes of reed, pelosi, weiner, clinton, etc. perves, crooks. a few caught evading taxes. then there are multinational mega corporations who use their vast coffers to influence public policy to make them richer all while having to pay less taxes on more income than we do. and then we come to the FED Reserve!!!! the most criminally corrupt organization on the planet next to the international bank (based in brittan did we not kick the brits out of here in the 1700's?)who are the real people pulling the feds strings.
if you do a show do a complete show on what has screwed this country into oblivion.
"if you do a show do a complete show on what has screwed this country into oblivion"
What we do in Part 15 radio is continue and expand upon what was once great radio.
Part 15 radio can expand and continue to wake up the walking sleeping masses by doing things as creating programs that talk about this stuff, and help return what was once a great nation.
The more who do it, or carry programs talking about it, the better. None, and I mean NONE of the mainstream nightly mind manipulating news is going to even whisper a word about it...because they are controlled by the same elites that work the Howdy Doody puppets you THINK you elect, when in fact they are already selected, and have been so since LBJ stood by to hop right into position made available for him by those same elites who pulled the trigger.
The magic bullet, lone gunman are the multi-generational serial killer filthy beyond comprehension rich elites, same ones killing everything right now..and to come.

Gentlemen, I cannot do that really big show until the carrier current station is on the air, and we are very close.
I have been moving like a snail on each stage of the installation, especially the part about latching to the high power lines, which is now ready to go and the solution might be interesting to technical minds:
To begin with, the power terminal screws in the LPB TCU-30, are somewhat small, and they are located in a tight lower left hand corner of the box... so it did not seem like a good idea to force the big thick three-conductor cable with stranded copper wires into that small space.
The A.C. cable was salvaged from an old dryer that was hauled away last week. It will plug into the same outlet the dryer used.
So I looked at RFB's photos showing his carrier current installation, posted on the Low Power Hour Page, and got some hard copper wires of the same gauge he used, and terminated these in the TCU-30, but left them disconnected a foot outside the box, while I explored ways to inter-connect the hard wires with the stranded wires on the rubber cord...
First, we tried butt-splices, also known as crimp-splices, featuring little cylindrical barrels which crimp down on the wires that stick into either end. But butt-splice devices work for stranded wire, but solid wire slips right out at the slightest pressure. No good.
Tried twist on wire connectors, but they also seemed a little bit unstable given the loppy weight and force of the large wires....Not acceptable.
RFB suggested large screw terminal block mounted in a little safety box with eyelet connectors crimped and soldered to the wire. So I spent a day going through my lifetime collection of parts and bits, but when does a collector have the exact part needed on a certain day? Answer: NEVER! So I went to Lowes and stood in the big aisle seeing that they didn't have the parts RFB had suggested. I said the word "Dammmmmm.." and made it last for about 30-seconds, but then I saw something that triggered the inventor side of my re-cycled personality, and this may become the official carrier current connection technology...
Eaton Cutler-Hammer Non-Fusible Pullout Air Conditioner Disconnect. It is perfect and has met the approval of RFB. It will be safe, and will always remind me of the day that I came up with a good idea.
Today is hookup day. And be assured, we will be sure the circuit breaker is OFF when we plug the thing in.
"Today is hookup day. And be assured, we will be sure the circuit breaker is OFF when we plug the thing in."
As I stated in your blog post Towering Thoughts, don't let synchronicity become part of the project.
And as I have said before..if you are not sure, STOP, RETHINK, REEVALUATE, REASSURE.
Your playing with things FAR MORE serious and FAR MORE DANGEROUS than a piece of wire hung from the roof or leading to the window or a mere flea. Your dancing with the HV/HC devil and if you don't dance right, you will do a dance usually referred to as BBZZZZZZZZAAAAPPPPP!
RFB
Synchronicity only exists for people who believe in it, and I don't.
But synchronicity is a fun topic to debate, along with astrology and whether there is more than one easter bunny.
But I am using that guideline....
Right now I am STOPPED, getting set to RETHINK, may re-evaluate after that or perhaps STOP first. Here comes the thinking part.....
Carl the suspense is killing me lol. But i think i can wait a bit longer. Sincerely Rock 105.3 - Broadcasting from the new Tornado Alley in London,Ky
Hello to rock95seven new Tornado Alley in London, not England, Kentucky!
The suspense isn't killing me thanks to extra safety precautions with that electric wiring. I keep finding a way of improving the safety factor, all being supervised by Mr. Carrier Current, aka RFB.
But I am down in the cellar now, cleaned up the equipment rack, swept the floor, and checked the wall plug to make sure it was ready to go.
The first test of a 2-Watt signal at 670kHz should happen this evening.
First the question will be: "Is it coming in on radios all over the house?"
When that works, the next test will be a drive to see what happens along the line.
This is Carl Blare, at the new bowling alley named Tornado Alley.
All safety checks having been made and re-checked, we went on the power line with 2-Watts of power at 670kHz, silent carrier.
The signal was receivable on radios all over the building, and I walked a portable radio 100' outdoors down to the street. Solid carrier.
We made a list of things that need improving, but all-in-all, it was a successful test.
It's like waiting for Alan Shepard to
take off in the first U.S. manned flight
on top of a Redstone rocket!
Carl, you've go the Right Stuff!
