Rat's ... for no reason I can imagine, my car radio just quit working, i.e., all I can get is some static at very low volume, either AM or FM makes no difference. The CD section still works fine.

Drive tests are real hassle now, have to rely on friends or a portable with poor audio.
Was working fine the day before, no indication of a problem. Next time I drove the car, it was broken.
Any ideas what the problem might be?
1995 Chev Blazer, original audio system - no mods.
I would check the antenna and the cable running from the antenna to the radio. Sometimes age rots the plastic shielding exposing the braided shield wire. On that model vehicle the cable has been known to rot and eventually break off.
Usually found on the(under)fender behind some plastic splash guards, be careful pulling that splash guard out, those plastic pins are easy to break.
