Canadian transmitter sources
Y'all,
It's been decades since I played with Part 15 stuff, so I'm a bit lammy recent history-wise. Which leads to . . .
Wavemach Communications, Toronto, ON Canada
www.fmamplifiers.com
and
Quality Kits, Kingston, ON Canada
www.qkits.com
The Wavemach stuff looks very interesting albeit pricy. Pricy for me is $100 just to hear stuff while mowing the lawn. Or sittin' in the yard watching the glaciers creep up on me. They have serious transmitters in boxes. Serious.
Quality Kits looks like Velleman, but they have "QK172: Wide Band Synthesized FM transmitter kit" and then there's QK171: 250mW Power Amplifier Kit" (The page says "250mA" but I'm bettin' it's really mW.)
One side of me goes "And who are doze guys?" The other side of me goes "Just what I need to get busted with."
And . . . Is the NCR AM88 really worth the hassle or should I just grape together a Wenzel-derived AM tx for my glacier watching?
Nils
