Looking to trade my BroadcastVision FM-3001W transmitter for an AM transmitter. Maybe an AMT3k or the like.
The FM TX does work (very well, in fact), is a legit FCC Certified transmitter.
I am currently running it from my roof housed in a tupperware box with a bit of pvc glued to the tupperware so the telescoping antenna is protected as well 🙂
i have a perfectly good and working Talking House II with it's OEM PSU. what kind of average range you get with the broadcast vision tx?
Right now, about 600-800 feet in each direction. It's better than I thought it would get. I get some picket fencing, but I expect that as I lose line of sight in the neighborhood. I already have a talking house.. Which I need to ship back to scwis...
how much you want for the fm cash wise? and is it pll?

i need a certified fm that gets about that range that will reach about that amount of footage to the pool here and dont have 515 for a decade
I think the key question is what kind of receiver you need at the other end to receive the signal, and what is the quality at that range? I could see that range from a certified transmitter with a car radio at the other end, but an ordinary consumer radio - not likely. I couldn't even get that kind of range to a consumer type radio with an FM transmitter certified to Canadian standards (and it has 4 times the field strength legally allowed in the U.S.).
I'm sure you are right. Gosh. I'll take this off the for trade immediately.
I guess that answers the question.
You could get that kind of range with some specialized portable receivers that are extremely sensitive, but you'd need sensitivity in the 1.5-2.0 uv range with some quieting (RF sensitivity by itself isn't enough, it just measures what kind of signal you can barely hear, you wouldn't want to listen to it).
Probably.
The reception I get on FM from my portable radios is useless, compared to the car radio.
Except for the TECSUN PL-310 that was recommended to me by rich.
ALL of my low power FM signals can be heard continuously without interuption as I walk way out away from the transmitter. It might even be better than a car radio.
These tuners are still available on ebay, and newer TECSUN radios might be as good.
