Oh that's right, newspapers are becoming yesterday's news, I forgot!
That is a laugh for sure, having them make sweeping claims about a media they aren't in and know little about.
Let's have a radio program about the death of newspapers.
We actually had some station swag made up with my favorite slogan printed on it...
"When you hear it on the radio it's news. When you read it in the paper it's history"
Pretty accurate, I'd say.
TIB
That's an excellent slogan, Tim
They predicted Radio's demise in the 40's when TVs showed up.
They predicted AM Radio's demise in the 60's when FM showed up.
They predicted Terrestial Radio's demise in the 90's when Satellite radio showed up.
Same exact situtation as Tim over here. Both our FMs are nearly filled to capacity for advertisers. One is a full C2 the other a 6kW A. Our AM does well locally with listeners, the spots will likely increase when we get the FM Translator signed on next Tuesday.
Radio is struggling in its current state, obviously though locally programmed radio isn't having a problem at all.
