I am looking for design information on baluns. I would like to build a 1:1 and a 4:1 balun to experiment with dipole antennas for an FM transmitter. Any information would be welcome.

John,

For the 4:1 I recommend you visit an electronics store and get a twin lead to F connector adapter (4:1 balun in disguise) at a cost of a couple of bucks. These usually are easy to get apart if you want to redo the connections.

For the 1:1, get a second adapter, take it apart, undo the wires, salvage the ferrite core, and follow the links above.

This is much simpler (and probably less expensive) than trying to chase down the parts individually.
