Shortly.
I've just been (re-) licensed by SOCAN here in Canada for the ability to play copyrighted material. I'm hoping to have my website up and running sometime next week.
Stay tuned for more details.
Our new, full name:
Artisan Radio, Radio By The Sea, 103.9 FM
Excellent Artisan, and welcome to the air, the stream and the sea.
thealpb.com has begun a collection of links to Member Streams, and Chairman MRAM 1500 will no doubt add your new service to the choices.
I will also be running Artisan Radio on my 1640 AM "Indoor Antenna Project" transmitter, switching among the other ALPB streamers.
Send you stream link along and I'll put it up on The ALPB Streaming page.
I'll definitely do that.
I'm hoping to round up some of my earlier contributors to the station.
Initially we'll be playing obscure 50s and 60s doowop, vintage jazz, new wave music and OTR. I'll be reprising the shows that I host, including Teenage Dreams, Surfin' The New Wave and Slightly Bent (which really doesn't fit into any genre, in fact, it just about insults everything).
But I also hope to add some modern jazz, classical music and a few other specialty shows (hosted by others) featuring such acts as the Beach Boys, Cliff Richard, etc.
I can't wait to hear 'The Best Music You've Probably Never Heard' go over the airwaves (and the Internet) 24/7 once again.
While we're definitely still in test mode (so it will be up and down), the stream address is http://www.artisanradio.com:8000/ArtisanRadio.mp3. The web site is still in development but should be up shortly.
Update: You may find that you have to cut and paste that URL into your favourite media player. A much better way to launch the stream is to download a playlist file, but I haven't gotten that set up yet - soon...
OK, the preliminary website is up and running.
It's simple and straightforward. I believe that's it's fairly easy to navigate (and that's the whole point). I'm going to investigate inserting some sort of media plug-in on the home page if a listener wants to use it rather than their own media player (although I didn't have much luck finding a suitable one the last time I looked).
The schedule isn't all there yet - currently we're just playing doo-wop. Hopefully later this week the rest will be there.
What a graceful graphic to greet the audience!
Artisan has real style!
