DJBoutit, you need to tell us more about your computer environment, hardware & software, before anyone can help you. CPU, memory, O/S, etc.

You might try running zara in a 32bit compatibility mode.

It could also be due to the manufacturer, if I'm reading your specs correctly it appears your machine is a Gateway. From personal experience I have had nothing but trouble from PCs built by Gateway, in fact there is a gateway computer for the receptionist at the fullpower that runs like total crap and always has. I had a gateway about 10 years ago that ran XP, always had problems with it as well. The only builder worse than Gateway is eMachines, of course this is all in my opinion based on personal experiences.

I've had pretty good luck with HP, Lenovo, and Dell (to a lesser extent).

Maybe some Gateways, I dont know.. But I ran Zara on older Gateway laptops (600YGR and YG2s) for years without any problems. Sometimes with external sound cards and some just using it's enternal cards, both error free.

I am going to try Zararadio 1.4.4 in Windows 2000 compatibility mode I hope I am able to use it longer than 36hrs now.  I had this Gateway for like 4 1/2 years now without any big problems.

My experiences with them have been poor at best with their desktop models. I suppose certain models within Gateway might be better than others they sell. HP and Dell have somewhat bad reputations as well though I've never had a problem with their products. Hands down the worst machine I've ever worked on were eMachines, every single one at the fullpower has failed. They all ate up fans, all had the same issues, and would eventually crash outright or slow down to a snails pace regardless of how the machine was actually used.

UpdateTitle window needs to be set to 11 IIRC. When typing in your server information be sure to click "update paramaters" when finished or it won't go into effect.

I've never used virtual cables before so not sure on that one, I do know on newer version of Windows (anything after XP) you need to have the satellite button pressed for audio output.

Personally I think your setup is a bit needlessly complicated but I understand if you have hardware limitations, I'd seriously recommend getting a different PC to handle the streaming or just feed your stream with an AM radio and skip using the virtual cables. Or better yet, buy a cheap PC and run Zara on it since it sounds like you use this PC for more than just radio.

I second that suggestion, you should be able to find an old pc for next to nothing or free.. It's fairly often I have people approacing me wanting to give me their old computers because for some reason they think I want them! I just tell them I have enough junk to get rid of already and to give it to someone else!

I bet you could find a suitable pc for zara at a local thrift shop or goodwill for $20, You can't hardly give them away, people don't want them.

I am going trying to try zara with another old computer.  I have a old computer but it does not power on and it is not worth it to fix it.  I just bought a nice 21.5" flat screen monitor and now I am looking around internet for a used computer someone does not need any more in my area.  I hope another will work with no problem.

Here's a used computer and monitor for $40 https://houston.craigslist.org/sop/6015159002.html Don't know how close to you that is. I threw out about 8 perfectly working older pentiums and matching old style monitors last year because couldn't find anyone else who wanted one (I gave away 4 and finally got tired of trying)

Or a brand new pc and monitor for $149 https://houston.craigslist.org/sdp/6005785033.html

There's almost always an old clunker PC at garage sales, I grabbed 10 for free at one such sale. Some ran, most didn't. The ones that didn't work are great for parts. I picked the best running PC, cleaned it up and ran Zara on it for a year or so before I upgraded. The machine still works and is available for backup if need be.

Pawn shops sometimes have desktops for sale as well.
