I came across one called "Out of the Woods" at radio4all that I really liked which was different than the music I can tune in on the local dial, but the next tome I went back and scrolled to random dates of some of their earlier shows I didn't like it so much as it was too bluegrassy for my taste.. But I still fish through them and weed out certain ones which I'm pleased with. It's a good program, each show is four hours long split into 4 one hour downloads.
Well, speaking for myself, it's a good program.
We air Music for the Mountain from the same host. He runs it tight at 58 minutes.
Yeah, the other is actually 3 hours not 4, but it is broken up in sections. His name is Jon. I emailed him a few weeks ago for conformations for the hell of it, even though I don't usally air music nor pay any licensing fees, but did like the program..
He replied:
By the way, what is a "roots show"? - I had actually emailed him back and asked, he responded with more details about both programs but never actually answered the question!

I have done this very thing with a couple of podcasts. Made the mistake of explaining too much about 'I'm a part15 station' and I baffled one contact. As a result they blew me off. Going forward I'm going to simply say it's a community radio project.
Probably refers to 'roots music', as in music that inspired and proceeded a particular genre. For instance, Celtic and European-type folk inspired Gospel, etc., which leads to rock, CW and pop. The recently hot item (seems I'm always behind the curve) is roots music in relation to rock, etc.: guys like Bob Dylan were listening to and inspired, but by what? Robert Plant of Led Zepplin had always been a 'world music' fan. He appears to have been a Lord of the Rings fan too.
After years of watching John Cleese lampoon the BBC, I can see what he was satiring. But I actually like listening to the BBC. So, where do I find information and permissions on rebroadcasting the BBC?
Simply ask.. However, instead of making a request directly to the BBC, who carries countless programs, I would suggest inquiring the actual specific program(s) your interested in, find their webpage and contact them individually for rights to rebroadcast.
