This is a shot in the dark.
Does anybody anywhere manufacture
AM broadcast band crystals below 1000 kHz
anymore?
This is for my LPB vacuum tube carrier current
transmitter, so it would have to be pretty strong -
it would have to handle the energy from the
first oscillator stage.
I know there are crystals out there - you just have
to look for them. I think the answer to this question
is no. But - I thought I would ask one last time.
And - just for kicks - does anybody out there grind
crystals anymore? I know some radio guys still do it,
but I'm wondering if anyone in this group ever tried it.

Hi Bruce:
Check with International Crystals.
They were super helpful with the Big Talker Shortwave 13.560MHz crystal, and several crystals I needed for LPB carrier current work.
My LPB CC transmitter is on 1020 kHz now, which is
clear during the day here. I'd rather have
it lower in the band, though.
The 1020 kHz crystal came from the AF4K
website. He has very good service. It's just
that he doesn't have any BCB crystals that go
below 1000, and are on 10 kHz AM channels.
Since the transmitter is only designed for the
low end of the BCB, I had to really mess with
it to get it on 1020. I was looking for 620 kHz,
and missed one on E-bay. Oh well, I'll talk to ICM.
These are big old crystals, from who knows when.
Best Wishes,

Hi micro Here is some crystal manufactures
Jan Crystal
Bomar Crystal Company
Crystek Crystal Corporation
International Crystal
Peterson Radio
Sentry Mfg. Co.
I hope this helps
That's great! I don't know if Peterson
is around anymore - he did great work.
I got a few 7 MHz ham radio crystals
from him. They were the best crystals
I ever had. I still have one for 7112 kHz -
around here somewhere (?)

You might try Surplus Sales of Nebraska. I just received a few crystals from them for my TR-20. THey are an awesome place for vintage radio-related stuff at great prices. I've bought from them in the past too, always very fast service.
Here's a link right to their crystal listings, but you might want to explore the rest of their site too just to check out come of the other cool stuff. http://www.surplussales.com/Crystals/Crystals.html
Great great stuff, MrNaturalAZ!
Thank you very very much!
Keep on truckin!
