The next regular ALPB TeamSpeak meeting is this Saturday, October 19th at 9:00 pm EDST.
Some ideas brought up at the last meeting have been emplemented at The ALPB website.
"The Streaming" page has been added where a Flash Player appears for each Member station.
A disclaimer regarding audio files and streamed audio has been added.
All of Carl Blare's "How To Do It" audio clips have been added on his Content page.
Artisan Radio content page has been activated, awaiting content to be added.
Hope to see a big showing at the meeting.
Prior to the start of ALPB my social life was limited to trips to the Save-So-Much grocery store, where I'd kid around with the butcheress and the bagging-ladies.
Now, thanks to the ALPB, I look forward to meetings with other radio broadcasters where we can share technology, experience with listeners, programming ideas, and a little bragging now and then.
Join up. Tell us about your radio life.
Whos turn is it to bring the nibbles ?
Tonight I am sitting here with a sharp pencil and a notepad all ready for the Meeting of the ALPB.
But the Meeting isn't until tomorrow night, I guess I'm just little early.
I'll just wait.
Not as early as me on a Sunday afternoon.
Well, as fate would have it there were technical difficulties with TeamSpeak for this meeting.
At first it seemed as though the TS server was off-line as I could connect to other TS servers but not The ALPB TS server which resides on my own PC.
PANIC, IT'S 8:55 AND IT WON'T WORK. I tried everything; reboot, restart the TS server a few times, dump and reload it a couple times-no luck.
By 9:15 I'm sending out an email asking members to report to The ALPB FORUM CHAT ROOM as it would seem TS was not going to cooperate.
All the while everyone else was enjoying a chat on TeamSpeak, wondering where I was. When their connection starting going up and down they figured I was doing something as the TS server resides on my home PC.
Some time later a message popped up in the FORUM CHAT BOX-Where you at? What do you mean TS is down it's working fine here!
After a bit the salvage mode kicked in and in the face of adversity there became invention. We worked around the problem I was having, using TeamSpeak, Facebook Video chat and free long distance calling on MagicJack. Finally I'm talking!
The meeting went on until 01:30 and I slaved over my PC until 04:00 trying to figure out what was wrong. Short story: The newest version of TeamSpeak 3 Client doesn't seem to work on the same side of the router as the TeamSpeak Server.
Solution: Roll back to an earlier TS Client version and all is well once again.
Last night's Meeting of the ALPB went into a steep dive, with MRAM inexplicably absent, Johny and me watching the Teamspeak Server go off line several times, but the solution was something for the Guiness Pub.
Johny was the message repeater connected to Teamspeak, the ALPB Chat Page and Facebook Video, with MRAM on Face Video, until he reached me on his Magic Jack telephone and somehow all these networks and inter-connections got us into a Meeting Mode.
We are going to apply as a team to work for NBC Television for solving remote broadcast difficulties before the plane crashes.
We promise to plow half the earnings back into Part 15 radio.
The things you do when 3 stuborn mad men decide "the meeting must go on or we will die trying"
