The next regular TeamSpeak meeting of The ALPB will be November 16, 2013 at 9:00 pm Eastern Time.
In future meetings we hope to present mini-seminars. This idea was discussed at the last meeting and will require time and effort to coordinate. Join The ALPB and bring your ideas.

The ALPB Meetings are very comfortable because there's no actual requirement for members to prepare anything.
The "mini seminars" being talked about will be interesting because it's a new idea and no one knows what will be presented.
I have the choice of just listening to what the others say, or I might propose an idea of my own.
Matter of fact I am thinking about a "mini-seminar" I might offer to provide, but I plan to be "last in line" because others might have something more interesting.
Either way, the ALPB Meetings have become a valuable part of my low power life, and I turn down offers from beautiful rich women rather than missing the meeting.
Meeting Time Tonight is 9 PM Eastern, 8 PM Central, 7 PM Mountain, 6 PM Pacific Standard Time.
For Johny Cole in New Zealand it will already be Sunday Afternoon!
After tonight's meeting there will be an extra few weeks until the next gathering, on the first Saturday in December.
The Association of Low Power Broadcasters, the ALPB, is for everyone interested in legal, unlicensed, low power broadcasting in the world.

Thanks to all who attended the meeting!
A trial Mini-Seminar was presented using two different formats.
TeamSpeak incorporates AVATARs (image files) primarily used to identify a user. The avatar can be changed quickly enough to serve as a slide show. Although the picture size is small by comparison, the resolution is adequate for the image to be viewed. Images are sequenced to follow script and the presenter simply changes the avatar image as needed.
Streaming software from NCH Swift called BroadCam give a robust, screen filling image in full motion video as well as audio. Live video would require a well rehearsed presentation to ensure smooth delivery. To be fully interactive there would need be two-way audio so viewers could comment or ask questions during the presentation. TeamSpeak serves that purpose allowing the presenter to hear the viewers.
In either case, the experiment was a success showing that we can deliver Mini-Seminars, live, during a meeting.
Now the search for presentations begins! Bring your ideas to the next meeting. Or better yet, become a presenter and show off your expertise!
I hope "accalades" means something like "big applause," because I was super impressed by ALPB Chairman MRAM 1500's demonstration of using avatar images to construct a well-paced slide-show within the TeamSpeak Meeting.
The instruction and learning portion of the meeting is only one good thing.
We also do chats where we can bring up any questions or ideas we have, and the discussion always leaves everyone with plenty of good tips and ideas.
While the rest of the world flounders in poor management and terrible politics, the ALPB has its act together.
