The next regular TeamSpeak meeting of The ALPB will be this Saturday, November 1st at 9:00 pm Eastern Time (still daylight savings until Sunday.)
A test of Skype was proposed at the previous meeting to see how it would work to accommodate a group meeting as we do with TeamSpeak. The reason for this was to explore options possibly making it easier for members to participate.
A test was scheduled for the evening of October 29th at 9:00 pm Eastern time. I forgot I would be bowling that evening as I tend to be a linear thinker. This however worked out as the bowling alley has open WIFI. This allowed me to test a remote Skype connection using my SmartPhone.
I was able to make the connection, short as it was, but the app didn't seem to be operating correctly as I could not see the caller, Johny C of Rag FM. Johny and I completed the test a little later when I returned home.
Unfortunately the test I had envisioned would have been a group of 4 or more to see how Skype handles a group call. Perhaps we can reschedule, to be discussed at this Saturday's meeting.

Saturday during the day I will begin to study Skype to prepare for the trial run when it is held.
The discussion at the meeting will be very interesting.
