You might correctly assume that I am not serious about community casting, but I am using Part 15 AM and FM for my personal purposes and enjoyment. Nonetheless, it is good to read about others' efforts and stations. To each their own.

Experimental broadcasting for a better tomorrow!
Here's a blatant attempt to hijack a thread.....acutally not...just want to keep the interesting info exchange going.
I have laid claim so far to the earliest start in part 15 AM...1959 (not kHz, year AD).
SCWIS now, without knowing it, has the claim to the lowest frequency ..1270 kHz, or is is Hz?
How low can you go and how far back can you go?
Where else can you have this much fun?
Neil
Neil,
My former station was on 1160; the carrier current station was on 1120.
I had the 1160 transmitter custom built for that frequency, but it used
crystals, so it could be changed.
This is an interesting thread, for sure.

Licensed with SOCAN up here in Canada so fully legal re copyright. Unlicensed FM is actually useable in Canada, as we're allowed 4 times the power of the U.S. Although equipment restrictions are more severe (if it's not approved for unlicensed use by Industry Canada, it's considered illegal). 100uv@30 meters translates into a 3uv signal at 1km, which most car radios can easily pick up with quieting (mono) - some car radios can go to the 2uv range which increases coverage. We're located on the side of a hill overlooking our listening area, so there are minimal obstructions.
