I can't believe I haven't mentioned this here before, and I haven't noticed anyone mentioning this. I discovered this probably 6 months ago, and have been airing it once a week on my "real" radio morning show.
Mike Rowe (the Dirty Jobs guy) has been producing a weekly podcast called "The Way I Heard It". It's similar to the old Paul Harvey "Rest of the Story" shows, but (I know this is blasphemy) but I like Mike's even better than Paul's.
He includes info on his Mike Rowe Works foundation and a bit about one of the sponsors of that non-profit organization. The stories are researched and written by him, and he tells a story VERY well.
I follow Mike on Facebook, which is how I knew he had launched this podcast. Neither his website, nor he, make any mention of others broadcasting it, etc. I chatted with him online when the show launched and he specifically told me anyone, anywhere has his permission to broadcast the podcasts if they like. He was just doing it as something for his website and to promote his jobs program.
Anyway, for some it may just be something to get excited about. Perhaps for others it's not your cup of tea. It includes no music at all, except a quick bass line intro that's just a guy n a bass guitar with a couple notes. No music license would be necessary.
I suggest starting with show number one and working your way up. I personally think these are GREAT stories, and I'm glued to the radio listening to every one when we air it. I've forced myself not to listen to the weeks program ahead of time so I have a fresh and authentic response/review when it's over. They're around 8 minutes long.
Anyway, it's here:

Based on Tim's description this is one of my favorite shows even though I've never previously heard of it.
It's going on my schedule despite the fact there's no room for it.
Paul Harvey was ok as far as it goes, but "The Way I Heard It" speaks for itself as a program name.
Thank you so very much!
I have always liked Mike Rowe
