I feel that the USA has comepltly turned its back on all citizens by allowing these state sanctioned murders of American citizens.

See you're wrong though. Because I just made a rant on the dallas police murders. I don't want to start some argument on here, but just because I am liberal doesn't mean I hate cops. I hate murder for no reason. I hate seeing cops killing innocent citizens. I also hate seeing lunatics killing innocent cops. Don't you see that?
is we have a very unhealthy obsession with guns in this country, especially military style assault weapons.
if you notice. almost all of these mass shootings take place in areas with low gun regulation or neigbor a state with low gun regulation.
this obsession with guns in this country are beginning to border on clinical insanity and is being prodded and fueled by right wing (a small few on the left as well) politicians, talk show hosts and pundits.
i keep telling conservatives that reasonable gun regulation is not the mass confiscation of your firearms. obama gestpo is not going to kick in your door and confiscate your legally purchased firearms.
it is simply making sure that legal gun owners can obtain reasonable firearms for hunting and sport and reasonable amounts of ammunition while working to prevent the criminal element, those on terrorist watch lists and the mentally unhinged from obtaining weapons and large amounts of ammunition.
we also need to retrain our law enforcement to go for the gun last not first. exhaust all other means before using lethal force.
I also don't justify shooting law enforcement. i am sick and tired of tunring on the news and seeing more and more unjustified shootings of not only citizens but law enforcement personnel.

this is where i stand on this subject.
It seems that the shooter is a veteran of the middle east conflicts. My thinking is that if we spent as much time and money on mental health issues as we do worrying about the 2nd Amendment, we would not be worrying about the 2nd Amendment.
