This location in the mid-Mississippi River Valley must be a shortwave blackout zone because almost everytime I search the shortwave dial there is nothing happening.

Years ago, using the Zenith Transoceanic, there were many lively choices from all over, but not now.

Part 15 radio could do something about it if the FCC would take a moment to open some new opportunities for low power activity on the shortwave spectrum.

True, the allowance at 13.560 MHz is a toe in the door, but we could use something in the whole numbers so far as Wattage goes.

This message came to you from atop Santa's lap.

6.9-7Mhz with 10 Watts out

could get an audience in your local area and one could tell listeners to purchase a Good Radio like a Tecsun PL-380 (or higher like the 880).

On your town's Facebook page you could advertise your Shortwave station.  Allowing Hobby Broadcasting on Shortwave with a few watts could get you 2 miles in all directions and if you wanted you can use software to transmit Digital DRM 30 using DReaM a FREE open source sofftware that allows you to transmit DRM Digital which is AM Radio's New Future.

ASPISYS had a DRM module now for their AM transmitter so you can transmit in Digital Stereo.  I've been keeping up with this on the C-Quam AM Stereo group on Facebook whereas people like ASPISYS manufacturer hangs out as well as Sean Cuthbert.  If your a serious Hobby Broadcaster who wants an audience and HQ Audio this is where all the folks hang now.

Hey Legs -

Where do I find the version of DReaM you're talking abt? All I can find is an Open Source receive-only implementation.

Must Be Dreaming

Just like BillyBurg I got thrown for a loop with TheLegacy's reference to a DReaM DRM AM Transmitter Software, so I went searching.

All we've been able to find is the

DReaM AM Radio Decoder

Looking at the DRM capable ASPiSYS Transmitter, they recommend using the SPARK DRM Encoder
