Then this might be a good way to spend it.
I found a KiwiSDR public site while searching around for a way to listen to Imagination Theater, which is only played on KIXI out of Seattle (otherwise, you have to purchase episodes through Radio Spirits, which I do not care to support).
This is everything that a web-based SDR should be, albeit fairly expensive. The software and hardware is also proprietary, which, in my experience with SDR's, just causes problems.
However, I was very impressed with the performance using my computer's browser (Chrome). The receiver is very wideband (0-30Mhz) and I was able to tune into the station I wanted from a site in northern Seattle.
And from the documentation, at least, installation and operation appears almost turnkey. Maybe that's one of the benefits of going proprietary when the manufacturer is actually concerned about correct installation and ease of use.
If I had known about this when attempting to get OpenWebRX+ going, I might not have persevered. Although, as I stated previously, it is relatively expensive. You can't beat free (since I already had my SDR's around).
Umm. What are we talking about?
Oh oh .. I missed the link, I see it now. I was so confused for a sec.
