A "Straw Man."
Does Not Compute
Many thanks to Artisan Radio for giving good mention to the new Blare Blog where things are going very well.
For this whole past month I've been trying to find the connection of The Blare Blog with a "Straw Man", as posted by AMRadioLegend. We all know this fallacy very well:
A straw man is a common form of argument and is an informal fallacy based on giving the impression of refuting an opponent's argument, while actually refuting an argument that was not presented by that opponent. One who engages in this fallacy is said to be "attacking a straw man." - (definition taken from Wikipedia under Creative Commons.)
To begin with, who is the "opponent" and what is his "argument" that we are trying to refute?
Discussion Becomes Disgusting
While waiting for a reply from AMradiolegacy regarding "Straw Man", we have gone off the rails speculating and opening an extended conversation about many subjects and topics, briefly touching upon the central topic.
