This article is talks about how Tesla who removed AM from their cars has now taken it a step further by removing FM too, and some other pickup truck manufacturer also has neither AM or FM but it's only in dash Internet stations.
While that may sound like bad news it actually proves to be good news..
Is AM Radio on Its Last Lap? Not If Congress Has a Say
https://www.autoweek.com/news/a69201369/broadcast-radio-vs-internet-radio/
"... The AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act, championed in the Senate by lawmakers who seldom agree on anything, .. has languished for a while, but now it has new momentum. .. “Tesla’s move to cut FM from its base models may have backfired, igniting new momentum in Washington to keep radio alive in the dashboard, where lawmakers are rallying to ensure over-the-air broadcasting remains a built-in lifeline for every driver.” The House bill now has 311 co-sponsors, and at least a filibuster-proof 61 in the Senate. .."
The words I have for this can't be said here.
So now it's FM too which proves my point about the reasons for why it's done. It has nothing to do with noise from the electric motor.
They don't want to have over the air radio so they can make you pay for the app to get it with a subscription on the internet.
Screw them! And screw all billionaires. Capitalism is a corrupt system.
This is a good example.
Elon Musk is a multibillionaire and he is worried about not getting a $7,500 tax break??????????
That's why he is taking radio out of the cars?
We can't even comprehend how much money even 1 billion $$ is.
If your salary is $100,000 a year tax free, a decent living right? It would take 10,000 years to make just 1 billion$
And he can't put radio in cars because he makes more money from internet subscriptions,
Screw them all.
It's the same reason behind cable TV replacing over the air. They can't make money if you can watch baseball on free over the air TV.
I think I should get a new car now and I will have a radio as long as I will be driving. It's not just Tesla doing this it's others too. At least Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, GM, and I think Toyota and Mazda still have radios in cars, but not sure about the last two. And they will all follow soon even if not an EV.
The article does say that the auto manufactures do get their cut of subscriptions. But what I like is how it backfired on them and reinvigorated the AM in every Vehicle Act which had kind of stalled.
