It's pretty tough to talk about anything these days without bringing in politics at some level. Because politics is driving sweeping change, particularly in the U.S. but around the world as well as fallout. You can agree or disagree with the changes, but there's no doubt that they are occurring.
Rural radio listeners are going to lose some radio connectivity because of NPR funding cuts. Part 15 equipment prices are going to go up because of tariffs. And net neutrality, while common elsewhere in the world (and for a long time), isn't coming back soon to the U.S. That cuts through 3 recent threads, but it's all fact.
How we, and others, deal with this, is the reason why the Admin and Moderator(s) here get paid the big bucks.
If you use facts, leave off the name calling, and have sensible, logical arguments, then pretty much any topic dealing with radio is OK. It's when you bring in misinformation and conspiracy theories, ad hominem attacks and non logical arguments (google 'argument fallacies' if you're uncertain) that things can get out of control.
We don't have to all agree with everything that is posted. It's OK to agree to disagree. Just do it in a respectful manner.
And disagreeing with someone who is making an argument doesn't necessarily mean that that someone is being political.
