Anyone tried this radio broadcasting software called Play It?
Zara as I understand has a few glitches and won't load all my tracks in the playlist...has limited capacity.
Came across Play It and wonder if this is better? A plug in can be added to the free version for EQ and compression.

Mark, I opted not to go with PlayIt myself. I'm sure it is very capable software, but the registration procedure - in my opinion - is a bit too invasive. When you try to register, the home office wants to know your computer name and the "machine code" (ostensibly the MAC address). The claim is that they want to know how many active users are out there, and to restrict other users from "passing the software off as their own". As soon as I saw how much they wanted, I aborted my installation.

These conditions may be OK for a lot of folks, but I have already given away too much of my life on the Internet as it is, so no thanks. All this means is that it's not right for me. Others will find this software intensely useful.

Lastly, if Zara is blowing up on some of your sound files, try one or both of these suggestions: first, if any non-standard characters are in the title like vowels with accent markings etc, rename them with common unadorned alpha characters. Second, if any are variable-bit MP3 files, re-process them to be constant-bit.  Since Zara basically fits over the Windows Media Player, its best to make things as easy as possible for both apps.

Good luck. Let us know.

Got the "trick" of getting all on and the only thing I have against it is no EQ even with a plug in.

If you know of a EQ add on that will work let me know.

It uses the computer sound card and the only EQ setting you can do in the settings on my computer is a bass boost.... not any other tone controls.....maybe some brands of computers give you that?

The easiest way to use audio processing with Zara is to use virtual audio cables.

These are device drivers that look, to Zara and audio processing programs, as input and output ports.  With this kind of capability, you can link the output of Zara to an equalizer, or any other type of program.

I purchased a program called VAC (Virtual Audio Cable) but there are free and almost free versions around.  I link Zara with a virtual cable to a free program called VSTHost, which essentially is a container, into which you can put all sorts of audio plug-ins (equalizers, compressors, etc., many of which are also free).

You would only need 1 virtual cable.  The output of Zara is linked to it and the input of VSTHost is linked to it.

A free and low income way is to use a demo voice changer app like diamond voice changer or similar.  There virtual audio cable still works when the demo stops.
