I finally finished updating my playlist there are now 83698 tracks in the playlist mostly AAC and I increased the stream quality to 160kbps AAC. I switched from MP3 to AAC.

www.phatbeatsradio.com for a link to the stream and a copy of the playlist

Quite a good playlist there, took a minute to load them all, but are there really 83,698 tracks?

What I got would be more like a couple of thousand, if that.

Listened to a few of them and you've got some really far out stuff there.

Switching and AAC

DJbout it used the words "switching" and "aac" in his title, which triggers ideas for me.

Having just officially named two of my stream servers "KDX-MP3" and "KDX-OGG", I think today I'll launch a third stream called KDX-AAC.

Did you count all 83,698 tracks manually by hand?

How long does it take to play 83,698 tracks?

It seems to me it would take several years.

You Have a Good Thing Going

Listeners to Phat Beats Radio have a very rich harvest of many songs to look forward to and enjoy with constant surprises always new.

DJboutit is the second smartest part 15 broadcaster.

For now I am only run a internet radio stream. If I could get 2 or 3 part 15 transmitters and get 6 to 7 miles range I would do it but I do not have the money.

Open a Concert Hall

By coincidence KDX Worldround Radio is broadcasting tonight from the Royal Albert Hall where the Minnesota Orchestra is performing as part of BBC Proms.

My guess is that none of the works being played are part of DJboutit's 83,698 tracks.

Goes to show just how big the world is.

Why did you convert your mp3 files to AAC?

I had low quality MP3 and a decent amount of the tracks sounded like crap. I got FLAC then I converted them to high VBR AAC.
