Philosophy of Success
We have operating philosophies and I believe a good philosophy radio program could become quite popular.
Actually, KDX does carry the weekly "Philosophy Talk" done before a live audience debating various issues in that field.
For something fresh, imagine setting up a booth on a street in New York City labeled "Ask a Philosopher".
March Mystery Month On The Blare Blog
A real mystery has come to us in the form of unsigned emails sent to The Blare Blog at kdxradio.com.
So far there have been about 4 such emails, from a return address that seems to come from a fake website.
The unsigned person is preaching to us about what he believes we should not say on our own Blog and makes strong suggestions as to what he believes we should say, and this has been topped off with an implied threat.
During the month we will analyze the unsigned emails starting with a discussion of the threat.
The Mystery will be simulcast here at Carl's Blogum because we have reason to believe the unsigned emailer is a member of the part 15 universe.
Traffic Information Stations
We now know that T.I.S. (Traffic Information Stations) grew out of a part 15 beginning, thanks to an in depth report researched and published by End80 Radio.
The recent issue of Radio World contains a lengthy article titled "TIS Is a Stalwart of Our Radio Landscape". What kind of a wart?
Anyway, the article by James Careless is on Page 4.
Several things stood out for me, the first being the large number of TIS stations presently in operation with state by state detail.
A picture of a 36-foot very striking TIS antenna is seen, and here I thought TIS was limited to 10-feet.
And the last segment, Rich Phoenix at 1630 AM Plainfield NJ, a dedicated radio man on city staff in charge of a very hands-on TIS station.
Today's EVERYDAY Radio Show
Latest edition of EVERYDAY is ready for listening and scheduling.
On this one we talk about our unsigned Email troller that struck The Blare Blog at kdxradio.com. This is part of March Mystery Month and will continue for several weeks.
A picture of a 36-foot very striking TIS antenna is seen, and here I thought TIS was limited to 10-feet.
I believe TIS is limited by 49 feet and ten watts.
Coming Up Soon
Wednesday March 20th will be the Vernal Equinox.
Pancho Vernal runs a gas station near Quito, Ecuador beneath the equator, the line of zero-arc that cuts through the center of the earth. At 12 Noon on the equinox the sun is exactly perpendicular to the earth at the equator and day equals night in length.
Once a year an egg can be balanced on its tip for over 5-minutes at the equator, but getting to South America is impeded by the border wall, making the ocean a better bet via chartered vessel available from End80 Radio on Tybee Island, Georgia. Unfortunately an egg will not stand up on the boat due to gyrating ocean.
Another big date is April 1st, also known as April Fool's Day, celebrated annually here at part15.org by a day of jokes intended to trick each other into believing ridiculous things.
One such joke I recall happened on local TV when the Noon News had a guest demonstrate a Crouton Tree, showing a small potted tree with croutons growing from branch tips.
Radio in Wartime
Part 15 radio stations do their part in the war effort by providing music of grade school memories designed to soothe the audience into a shopping mood contributing to fuller employment and healthy tax returns funding the more than nine U.S. wars and skirmishes in far flung locations.
What few stations and websites attempt to bring word of atrocities and war crimes are increasingly removed for the greater good.
