Mark mentioned World Radio Day a couple days ago which reminded me my own birthday was coming up.. but then I kinda just forgot again. That is until tonight when I realized I had apparently let it pass by without event anyway. Ever since I retired I find myself to be generally out of the loop - even my own personal loop. Just turned 66, but seems like it was only yesterday when I had turned 40.. What the hell happened to the last 20 years?
Come to think of it, I think I forgot it last year too.. maybe that's the why, forget your birthdays and you'll wonder where the years have gone.
Yeah when you retire it doesn't matter what day or time it is.
They are all the same. Happy birthday.

Thanks, but it's not my birthday, that was yesterday.
To me it still matters what time of day it is, because I generally time my trips kayaking back and forth to shore with the tide change (if I even go), that way it ensures an easy trip both in and back.. basically riding the outgoing tide in, and the incoming one back home - Of course I'm still paddling, but the trips are dramatically easier that way, it's about a mile from my boat to where I come on shore, but there's actually land about 500ft away, but then I'd have to walk at least 2 miles to where I want to go. I intend to get a regular dingy, already have a good 4hp motor, but I actually enjoy the kayaking, so I'm in no rush to get one and maybe some super bargain will come up.
And... I've drifted so far that I forgot what I was going to say.
Oh! Just that the time of day matters to me because of the tides (but their times do change everyday).
