Already in my area I get about 40 free over-the-air tv channels, most of them good, but thats going to increase even more in March (to most all areas) is a new one: "Free TV Networks" (FTN), which will mostly likely result in another 3 or 4 channels of free tv.. With over 40 channels to choose from, I don't know why anyone would pay for cable or satellite tv. There's plenty of free OTA content to choose from, and even more free online channels.

I agree. I have never believed in cable. OTR TV is always going to be around. You may not be able to watch tennis some other things that are only on pay cable channels but so be it.
I will never pay for TV. But 40 channels! That's something.
And thought I'd mention this while on the subject. When cable started way back when, the selling point was no commercials on any cable provided channel. What happened to that? Why do you pay big $$$ to companies each month to force you to watch commercials. If I have to watch commercials I am not going to pay for that.
@mark Im sure you also know there's also plenty of free tv programs and mainstream movies freely available on a wide array of online sources including Prime, Tubi, Plex, Pluto, ect. ect. - I see no reason to pay with such a massive and wide selection of quality options without paying a cent.
Occasionally I'll pay for a movie and watch it wherever. I haven't had cable tv, or watched any broadcast tv in 30+ years. There is one exception. I did watch an hour or two of Me TV out of STL; couple episodes of an old 're run'. They weren't as good as I remembered. Except for some old Carol Burnett I saw somewhere, probably Youtube.
