@richpowers I didn't go back to the original post but I think I said it would run my station for a day....a day not meaning 24 hours. A day in my mind meaning from morning to evening....something like that. Not the literal meaning of a day. Most power outages don't last that long.
As for the broadcast computer look on Amazon. I have 2 of these. It comes with windows 11 already set up and ready to go. Runs Salamandra fine nonstop 24/7 no glitches.
Amazon won't let me copy and paste URL so I just copied the description but you can find it easy enough. Oh yes, operates on a common 12 volt power supply for charging and not a proprietary one. Just need a little adaptor for the USB 3 input to the computer from any 12 volt wall adaptor. But it comes with a power supply. I use one and the other for back up.
@mark Found it, and do like that its 12v. My last one was 12v too, an Evolve I talked about here before,;it was only $70 new but I ruined it whejvIvgot it wet done day.. Thought bout getting another, they work ok but they feel really flimsy cheap, and since I really wanted to run the station on XP anyway decided to get an older machine that's built more solid. The Aspire laptop from ebay came in today and it seems t be built solid and lt seems to perform well and looks in excellent shape, even came with a nice zippered case. I think I rather have this at $30 to run the station than that new HBESTORE laptop on Amazon for for $179.
My station (using Zara) has always ran trouble-free on XP for weeks unattended, but everytime I tried on modern operation systems there always seem to be bugs that crop up.. So that's why I like to stick with XP - it never fails.
I may still switch to Salamandra since everyone seems to be praising it. - I'm going to at least give it a test run anyway.
I'm still not sure about external sound card and proccessing.. at some point I really want to get a Shlockwood - so I'm going to have to factor in its power requirements as well.
