One of the reasons I enjoy Part 15 broadcasting so much is discovering new music that was released in my favorite era (the 50's to 60's). Particularly novelty tunes.
I posted here a while ago about two albums released under the umbrella of Mad Magazine in the earlys 60's - Mad Twists Rock 'n Roll & Fink Along Mad, featuring the Dellwoods (Mike Russo & Jeanne Hayes) and such tunes as I'm Sorry I Messed Up Your Hair and When the Braces on Our Teeth Lock.
Recently, when going through some potential playlist material, I ran across another great song parody. In the early 70's, National Lampoon (a more adult version of Mad), produced a stage show featuring early performances from John Belushi, Chevy Chase & Christopher Guest. Titled Lemmings, it ran for 350 performances, and a video from that era was made available in the early 2000's. Here is one memorable song from that show - Alice Playten with Pizza Man.
Singing With Food in Her Mouth
"Pizza Man" is actually a pretty good song until the singer gags on cheese.
