In recent days ChatGPT has been contributing greatly to my general education. Seeking answers to the little missing tidbits and factoids of 'what I know' I now consult ChatGPT daily and feel like my IQ is on the rise.
Just this morning I asked it 1.) How to make chicken broth and 2.) What complaints are made about Catholic hospitals.
Every time I wonder about something I just ask ChatGPT.
So, I got to thinking about how the English language economizes by re-using words to mean different things. An example is 'lead' and lead'. One of them means 'to lead' in the sense of 'being a leader, such as a platoon leader in the army'. The other use of 'lead' is a heavy metal which can be used for sound proofing and electronic shielding, but can cause blood poisoning.
Other confusion can be caused by words that are spelled differently but pronounced the same, such as 'hole' and 'whole'.
One word in particular has many uses, that word being 'black'.
