Mighty mentioned above ".. I keep mentioning Windows Media Player for a reason, Zara uses WMP for all media playback..."
Of note, the problem I just corrected on mine was not a conflict with my usb tv tuner itself. but was a probelm with Windows Media Center handling it.. and it was working fine till a few days ago.. after numerous trials and error, I ulimately got it working again by downloading a hot fix from Microsoft, - if a 'sfc /scannow' (rememember to "run as administrator") finds an error, then search that error out at https://support.microsoft.com/ , and follow the steps suggested.
A similar situation occured for me whereas Zara would crash for no apparent reason.
Close examination of the error log showed that Zara stopped everytime it tried to play one particular file or at least stopped between that file and the previous file.
Using a word editor like Windows Notepad to view the playlist file did not show anything unusual.
The playlist was deleted and rebuilt and the problem has not returned. Apparently there was something corrupt in that file at that point which would send Zara into the netherworld.
