"Error playing the file. The time announcement files are not installed. Please see help for more details."
I reinstalled Zara 1.6.2 but there is no difference, except that now the Line_In Plugin connecting Zara to Winamp, which worked so well, doesn't work anymore.
I never get very far with Zara.
The part 15 hobby isn't fun anymore so I shut the station off and am going to hire actresses to come over and entertain me.
Zara Time Announcements are running perfectly now, thanks to over 100 e-mails from a very helpful Johny C. (RagFM), and input from MRAM 1500 (Bob F.).
For future users of Zara v 1.6.2 I'll mention the two reasons I had trouble with Time Announcements.
1.) My homemade time announcements failed because Zara looks for them in the program drawer "Zara," created upon program installation. But I renamed that drawer "Zara_162";
2.) Johny sent me a different set of time announcements and I'd re-installed Zara to correct the name of the Zara drawer, yet it failed again because... Johny's time announcements had zero audio content because Dropbox only allows full file download for those who sign up, which I didn't, because Condoleeza Rice is on their board of directors. She bad.
Johny sent the announcements by another route and viola! Beautiful string music.
Moving on, I mastered the Jingle feature and New Events window, Zara is a very uptown control program for radio of ALPB standards.
For the 4th time this week the Zara Playlist jumped to the next audiofile after playing only part of the one it had been playing.
At first I thought maybe some audiofiles were corrupt, but it was something else.
Under "Options" Zara has a "Silence Detector" which can be set to jump ahead after a configurable space of silence, and I found mine was jumping ahead after 15-seconds of quiet.
By dis-enabling the "Silence Detector" the problem is solved, but I'll need to check this, as I thought it was dis-abled.
Amazing program, Zara. Truly love it. I may take it to city hall and get a marriage license.
