Hello all,
I know this is not about part15 but I was kind hoping somebody had a answer or could point me in the right direction. As well as starting a Part 15 station in our town, we also would like to do a online tv station as well. I think what we are looking for is something like zara radio ot station playlist but for video to stream to say something like UStream or Justin tv. Any advice m8s?

Oh good, I love this topic, and I think there are many ways of justifying it as a Part 15 subject.
Just to get in the game, it would be a TV studio streaming on the internet, where you could go live in real-time, and playback pre-recorded segments at the push of a button or by an automated switch.
twit.tv has all their programs like that.... you can watch them live when they are happening in the studio, then you can see playbacks on demand from then on.
democracynow.org also does it. The show is on live feed every morning, then by playback around the clock.
The software? I have always wanted to know!
Hey Carl,
Yeah, I am checking into Ustream and Justin TV atm. I think there is a way you can do it through winamp but I am not sure. I used to run a shout cast server back in the day on a dedicated server along with some multiplayer games so I can figure it out. The only bummer about that is that I all my viewers would have to dl and install winamp I think, and that would be a hassle. I think that Ustream and Justin is the only way, and thats going to be expensive. I think you can stream live to YouTube as well. Hmmm
Winamp has a plugin called NLV which allows it to stream TV, and yes, all viewers need to have Winamp with NLV plugin to see it, I think.
There is a forum on the subject at the Winamp site.
Is Flash a format that allows live and recorded TV streaming?
I am not sure about that flash thing. Isnt Youtube flash? They support live streaming. I think I am going to have to go with Ustream or Justin or even YouTube. I was kinda lookin for a do it your self / less exspenive way but I cant everything my way lol. Time to pony up ! lol
Thanks once again for your wise input good buddy:)

I use ustream.com/ustream.tv for live streaming or re-broadcast of videos i have taken earlier in the day. One channel is for my Jeep and i use their app on my android phone.
When i have recorded a video where i had no internet connection or 3g/4g service i can save that video and transfer it from the phone to my computer .
From a desktop computer i use Ustream Producer to stream the video to our channel.
I have not paid for the full version of Producer but have plans in the future to do so.
There are some great features on Producer but time keeps me from listing them here.
I hope this helps.
Hey Rock95seven,
Yes, your post did help and thanks very much for posting it m8! I will be looking into Ustream and Youtube as well. Here is a update. I just applied to become a youtube partner, it seems its alot easier now than it used to be. When it comes to content I will be recording I think I am going to set it up like this. Being a youtube partner, I can now upload videos up to 2 hours, I can also opt in or out to monitze my videos. I dont think I am going to do this as adds will appear before my content plays. I think the better way to do this would be for me to include my own adds before , in the middle and after the content is played. So for instance, some of the things I will be filimg are local middle and highschool sports and scholastic events. When I flim say, a science project that the kids are doing I will try and limit it to 45 minutes or so, then manually edit the adds in via Camtasia Studio, then upload to youtube. Then on our "Uncle Bob" tv page for Brillion Radio we would list the days content in order. We are a small town, so all of our adds will be from local businesses. As for live events such as the games, it seems as if that will be the easy part. What I cant wait to find out is if I can make a play list then broadcast that as if it were a live stream.
Who knows what YouTube will let me do when I actually get started lol
Thanks again for your reply m8! ๐
