Many radio stations operate from downtown studios with transmitter and tower way out in the burbs, while other stations house studios and transmitter in the same building with a tower on the property.
After thinking about the possibilities, KDX has decided that everything could ideally be co-located in a single sky scraper, and we're shopping around.

Obviously part 15 would not benefit from a mile-high building, but we are thinking about constructing a minimal shed with our 10-foot AM mast on top.
The advantages are obvious... the transmitter would be better shielded from the elements as would be the technician, protected from weather with an overhead lamp and small shelf for test gear.
More than idle chit-chat, KDX plans to conduct a feasiblity study starting with local zoning to determine if such a hut is allowed.
What other considerations would arise?
