Boobams!

August 28, 2007 by WEAK-AM

OK, I got all excited about jingle packages after visiting the “Keener 13” web site– and finding the nice productions from PAMS and JAM.

I hate to bother them any more than necessary, so has anybody here worked with them and do you know if their “personal use” policy includes Part 15 radio?

They say “no broadcast” of “personal use” jingles, but the FCC doesn’t consider Part 15 operation to be “broadcasting” (otherwise, you’d need a license, eh?)

Oh– you don’t know what a “boobam” is? Just Google it, or visit jingles.com!

    JAM is a blast!
Love their sample jingle set on their web site:

I believe the “no broadcast” rule is driven by the music licensing. The personal jingles use music that’s not licensed for public performance so it can’t be used for broadcast, background music in a commercial establishment, music on hold in a business, and all those other no-nos

Shouts, on the other hand, come without a music bed, so you can use those naked or you can lay them over your own beds.

Also lots of midi and au tracks and loops you can get that are free and useable, so that’s another option.

Hiccough! Sorry about the quintuple posts 🙂

Experimental broadcasting for a better tomorrow!

      There’s a reason they cost so much…
And that reason is… they’re the best! Well, one of the best, anyway. I found a few different “cheap” packages around the Net… they sound cheap, too.

I have found one intriguing possibility: the Instant Radio Station from Ben Freedman. The licensing terms are geared toward the Part 15 station operator… $99 for 99 years. The kicker is, you’ve gotta “roll your own”. They provide the raw materials, you do the work. I’m not ready for that yet, but I’ll get there. I recently purchased Sound Forge 9, and I’m trying to get up to speed with it. And Zara… where to find the time for these things?

You might ask why a classical station needs a jingle package? Well, why not, if it’s tastefully done.
