AM Stereo Station

December 17, 2011 by ABMedia1

a few weeks ago when i was spending time with my grandmother and me and her were listening to a distant am radio station AM 1400 KGVL out of Greenville, Texas which is not far from Sherman(KDSX) and McKinney(KQRO), Texas this particular radio of my grandmothers locked on to the stereo part the am station and i thought is KGVL Broadcasting In Stereo? and i started to flip out and thought really am stereo? so i looked it up of all the stations broadcasting in stereo so and guess what KGVL Does Broadcast In C-QUAM Stereo which i greatly applaud the station for the choice, for anybody on part15.us do you have any local AM Stereo Stations, besides your own?

    KGVL
I knew at one Time KGVL did broadcast in stereo.
Wasn’t sure if they still did or not.
Looks like they still are, excellent!

    This Is a Real Question
Wow, I never wondered if any stations here are broadcasting AM stereo. I have no idea. How can I find out?

      Ways To Wisdom
“Wow, I never wondered if any stations here are broadcasting AM stereo. I have no idea. How can I find out?”

Have you tried calling them or emailing them or going to them and barging through the front door in army desert camo wear armed with your Class E 100mW round AM-5K aimed at their heads and demanding to know if they are AM Stereo? 😉

Or perhaps here is a less aggressive, and a lot more fun way to find those C-QUAM stations..by adding one of these to ANY AM radio:

It might help prevent that urge to play Rambo the C-QUAM Hunter!

        The Answers Arrived
I asked and got very nice answers about AM stereo.

Strange. It would be very smart for AM to have stereo. The sports stations could have that spacial action sound of live games in stereo. The religious stations could have the reverberation of the big church architecture and the glorious sound of hymns in stereo. It would help them build audience.

People with license may be rich, but are they smart?
