ALPB MEETING 5 JULY 2013

June 29, 2013 by MRAM

Hello all!  The next ALPB TeamSpeak meeting will be Friday, July 5th at 7pm EDST.

Some have requested we try a different meeting day/time as Fridays are a busy time for most.  Even I have been called away, unable to attend.  Of course my situation was emergency work, job related.

We are considering having a couple informal meetings perhaps on a Saturday to see if more members are able to attend.  Saturday was picked to accomadate members, due to their location on this globe, for who the time falls on the next day.  Most likely the time will be the same, 7PM EDST.

If you think Saturday at 7PM EDST could work for you, let me know and we may try for next Saturday, July 6.  If enough people respond and would like to try this Saturday, June 29 we can do that also.

    Going Overboard

Since these two Saturdays sandwich with the July 4th perhaps we should have two very special holiday opportunities:

A meeting on June 29 and another meeting on July 6.

    Too much?

      Holiday Opportunities…

I’m good with July 6th.  This can be an “everybody’s invited” open house chat.

        Saturday Time???
There have been two responses regarding the suggested Saturday meeting.

One reponse suggested a later meeting time to accomodate the US west coast participants.

I would suggest 9pm EDST to accomodate our US eastern time zone. This would move the meeting time 2 hours later than normal for everyone.

Unless someone feels there is a better time, I’ll be listening for attendees at 9pm EDST Saturday July 6th.

            Ooops…

Seems there was some confusion with the announcement of the “informal” Saturday meeting.

The Friday meeting was still on with the extra meeting Saturday to see if that works better.

So, instead the Saturday meeting will replace the regular meeting and we’ll see how it goes.

            I missed it, too, Johny..

We have had severe weather, including thunderstorms and heavy downpours, here in North Florida for the past week. I let mram1500 know via email.

Here on the old farm and radio ranch, no flooding and no damage. Big D Country didn’t miss a beat. Since there are quite a few Internet listeners, I was live on the air a few days with weather alerts, flooded street info, and such. None if the big boys broke from syndication to cover it, apparently.

A few counties over, Walton County, Fla. got 17.44 inches of rainfall and Panama City, Fla. had ranges between 10 and 18 inches of rain. Walton is in a state of emergency.

Finally, no rain here right now.

Big D and I have made it through another one.

            Hello Florida

That’s a lot of rainfall in a short time, Big D, I’m glad you made it through.

Let’s see… Floriday has the Atlantic Ocean on the east, but what’s on the west… is that the Pacific or the Gulf of Mexico?

What’s on the southern tip of Florida, the South Atlantic or maybe the Caribeanne.

The meeting tonight held together very nicely and we talked for about 2-and-a-half-hours, about radio and the world.

MRAM will be announcing it, but we decided to make the new meeting time the first and third Saturday at 9 PM EDT.
