PART 15 AM STATION FOUND ON 1710 kHz!!
I was DXing, and I was trying to hunt for part 15 radio stations. I am not alone now, there is a radio station on 1710 kHz running in limited range but can be heard in the 23462 area, but not clear enough. Station was pretty strong when I was at the 23464 listening area, when I was back at the 23462 listening area, the station can still be heard, but clearer with a AM loop antenna. Its a Christian Radio station on 1710 kHz, but it’s in spanish language, I wish I knew spanish. We need a station like this in the community for the hispanics who are looking for Christian music in spanish, who ever started this station, keep up the great work. The word will be heard if people have a radio that tunes up to 1710 kHz.
Dear owner of 1710 kHz in Virginia Beach,
I love your programming, even though I do not know spanish, the music will be great to hear, and it would be nice to hear some Christmas music in spanish to celebrate Feliz Navidad, Your signal was very clear, and If you get this messege please send me a QSL card of your station. I first heard your station back in November 27, 2010 at 11:30 PM EST. Add me to your list of listeners and Happy Holidays and wish you the best in your career in broadcasting. God Bless and Merry Christmas!
DXing For Part 15
It’s great to see a Part 15 DX report and I hope there are many to follow. Here at the Mississippi River by the Gateway Arch it is very disappointing to never hear anything on 1710kHz, nor any other frequency, except the usual licensed bores.
In fact, FCC actions against pirates and such practically never happen here either, so I guess there’s something in the food that makes the local population non-technical.
I’ve been trying to promote the Part 15 hobby at every chance, but all I see are blank faces that wonder why I’m talking about something so far off from sports, weather and movie stars.
