RADIO STATION UPDATE FOR 2020 :
LW 175 kHz – WBSE-LP – The Basement and 49 MHz Radio – Soon this low power part 15 long wave station will sign on the air in AM mode or back in NFM mode on 175 kHz playing the same programming as the AM station on AM 540 soon in the future. The station first signed on the air around the year 2014 at a different apartment complex, but right now the LW transmitter is very bad shape and needs serious work, and it needs it’s own power supply. The LW Transmitter cannot get off the ground to the outside world.
AM 540 kHz – WTRH-LP – The AM station is now taken over by 49 MHz Radio starting July 2019. Not too many other part 15 stations is using this AM transmitter. 49 MHz Radio covers alot of radio programming for the part 15 listener community.
91.7 FM – WGWX-LP – The weather radio station still remains on the air, but it running at very reduced power and range. The audio feed is coming from an NOAA weather radio feed. Soon when the transmitter gets upgraded to something better and stable, it will be reconnected to the old Radio Shack Pro 2030 or newer weather radio receiver. It’s using an old mp3 FM transmitter connected to a USB sound card and a USB power port on a USB hub. It’s for weather radio coverage to help monitor weather conditions, sometimes on AM 540 during storms the coverage from 91.7 FM is relayed to the AM transmitter during storm watch and warnings. It’s really for personal weather radio use since the signal range is very short.
