I Think It’s More Complicated Than That
Just to let all the readers of this website know who we are and what we’re talking about, we are very fortunate to have Tim in Bovey weigh in on these complex copyright issues particularly involving internet streaming. I agree fully with everything Tim has described and believe it is all true and…[Read more]

Emergency Vigil
The “emergency” aspect of the current program on KDX has fortunately evaporated, but the Law of Inertia was already set in motion to hold a Marathon Online Vigil for Julian Assange with major pundits and journalists from all over the world making contact by video-audio conference to speak in support of the besieged publisher who…[Read more]

Looking For / Haven’t Found
KDX is looking for a website that reports on all legal claims, actions, lawsuits and the like, against streaming radio stations being accused of using copyrighted music without appropriate licensing.
It would be like the FCC Enforcement Action sites, only for music licensing issues.
There are streaming radio stations…[Read more]

For many years Keith Perron hosted The Happy Station Show from his PCJ Media in Taiwan, along with other programs such as Media Network Plus, but since his January 13th, 2019 broadcast all has gone silent.
The website at pcjmedia.com now brings up an Asian Online Casino site, giving rise to a conspiracy theory that perhaps a money loan wasn’t…[Read more]

More Serious
That was fun introducing those little teensy record players. But now we get super serious with the top of the top!
No doubt we’ll want some standard turntables for their retro look, but enter now the age of the laser analog record player!
No stylus required.

Perishable Messages Made of Air
Jennifer captures my attention by saying: “Part of our message is highlighting the perishable nature of radio broadcast.”
I agree with that “part” of your message and would be interested in learning the other parts.
Is there a website where RadioActive RadioFree bases its activities?
Archives of your shows might…[Read more]

Decoding Hidden Streams – Part 2
Why do we need to find the basic stream address of a stream source?
To relay an incoming stream in real time from within the Zara Playlist, a way of “going live”, a certain form of address is needed or it doesn’t re-stream. Typically it’s an address like: http://stream1.thomhartmann.com/hartmann.live
This…[Read more]

Decoding Hidden Stream Addresses
Much time has been spent looking for ways of finding the stream address of proprietary stream sources and I’ve captured a few.
If a stream can be run in the VLC Player it is possible to see the needed data.
Know any tricks or secrets?

The Jackpot
Rich Powers Investigations: “Does your actual stream address change or is it consistent every time? I couldn’t add the address you provide because it actually goes to an Icecast page.”
The KDX stream address is fixed and does not change.
The Icecast page linked earlier is the actual Stream Server which presents an inbuilt Ogg P…[Read more]

Carl Hogs Up Another Message Window
Oh, and you asked about creating a program and I produce several which are getting hard to find because I am not sure whether I want to link them or not.
Once in awhile I link some here and a few are linked at End80’s Part15 Lab.
My current series is called EVERYDAY but I don’t do them everyday.

Paying Respects
My hunch is that Mick Jagger will be back to his music soon enough.
Visiting through the pictures linked by Mark it is awesome to see Sir Jagger show the world how to be 75-years old in graceful style.
Now I want to be as much like Mick Jagger as possible, so I’ll start by learning how to do music, then wait for the women to show up.

Fools Day
It would be appropriate now to make April 1st a federal holiday.
As it is we have an annual call for jokes intended to ‘fool’, and I have two silly ones ready-to-go, but first, these other things.
As you may know I run a group of radio stations under part 15 authority and hang around at this forum site to interact with other station…[Read more]
