FM has become useless for hobby Broadcasting south of Gloucester, VA too. I’m seeing less space on FM. AM is your best choice.

Thelegacy replied to the topic Which antenna will work? in the forum Antennas 2 years, 9 months ago

Australia from what I read also allows a Lot More Power than the USA on AM!

It is interesting to know that the USA and Canada are more restrictive but at least Canada allows more power on FM (For What Its Worth) than the USA but Canada is starting to have those pesky AM translators on FM filling it all up.

I’m sorry but the stupid thing won’t let me edit what I posted after I posted it.

just take the mosquito transmitter and connect it to the range extender. If the mosquito has a different connector other than the f connector you can get an adapter on eBay to convert RCA to f connector which is a female connector or BNC to f connector. the…[Read more]

Don’t think I would take the mosquito transmitter and hook the range extender to it. the difference between 50 and 75 ohm is relatively minimal and it should work just fine. Just tune it and watch your meter for the maximum results. That 1 watt signal should give you a nice good range you should be heard from 1.5 to 2 mi with little or no…[Read more]

Thelegacy replied to the topic Talking House Range Extender in the forum Antennas 2 years, 9 months ago

Testing the power supply with my New Talking House 5.0 measured 14.9 volts.

This was the supplied power supply that was sent which was a TH-2000 power supply. I did find that my friend has tested 4 different power supplies and non of them were the same voltage.

My Other engineer friend had tested 3 different TH5’s and non of them had the same…[Read more]

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Yes site to store or site to home has the ISony CF-P26 and it sounds good but remember when you get close to your station tune slow as a human hair. If your a hair line off it kills it

I’m partial to high performance Digital tuners when money allows

Yes Very Nice with Digital tuning. It would be nice if they come up with a AM stereo version of it as well.

If you are using the wire antenna make sure the switch is set to Basic (Not Outdoor) antenna. Some TH’s say Indoor some say Basic as my New one says.

sometimes as well the switch gets dirty. flick it back and forth a few times and see of that solves your problem. Though on the wire I got far less range than using an ATU or home made ATU I go…[Read more]

Barix boxes may be your best bet to get the audio to the 2nd transmitter.

As for Range in a Rural area with the Rangemasters each Rangemaster should get 1.5-2 Miles out. As far as a Talking House with the ATU you should get 1 1/2 miles with the ATU mounted outside 20 Ft up or way away from any obstacle but mounted lower so you can…[Read more]

Thelegacy replied to the topic DECADE LX-75 discontinued in the forum Transmitter Talk 2 years, 10 months ago

If it wasn’t for the coronavirus I probably would have had the Decade MS-100 or the 800 and just turned it down to about 20. Which is what the broadcast vision runs at around 20 milliwatts.

I am curious to find out what the future of some of these transmitter manufacturers is going to be after the pandemic now.

I can agree with some of the article. I’d really like to take a good look at it.

It Does depend on the receiver and that is why I choose the Tecsun Radios as a reference. 2 friends of mine get 2 Miles on AM.

I spoke to Bill Baker of ISS about the iAM transmitter and range extender 2.5. I asked him because I was concerned about the posting about a 2500 foot range because I have talked to folks who had the older ATU which claimed they were getting one and a half to two miles easily with decent am radios where you didn’t have all sorts of electrical…[Read more]

I only see this as an opportunity for him to cash in on a bad situation such as this. If this is the case shame on him for doing that.

now the big question is since he’s going off subscriptions is he still going to require you to have to use a ISP given email address? if so that would be redundant because as a subscriber only I fail to see how…[Read more]

I was reading I’m one of these forms I can’t remember which one but there was a gentleman that had a Scosche FMFreq in his house connected to a cigarette lighter adapter to AC.

The gentleman also posted it on a forum on Facebook that was ran by Michelle Bradley I’ve already seen it. So I posed the question would that still be legal since the…[Read more]

hey part 15 engineer I heard that the broadcast vision FM transmitter is really clean on the spectrum analyzer. Plus I hear it has extremely good range. How much do you want for that because I don’t trust my whole house 3.0. you could email me about that.

You put that transmitter outside in a waterproof box on a pole 10-20 Ft and it would fly. FM loves to be open so I’m quite sure you’d get good coverage.

If you need to get audio up there you can use a Bluetooth receiver and transmitter set. There are some that have two antennas on them and they have a nice range of clear signal.

My stepson has a GF in Lebanon Tennessee. if I ever go down there to see my stepson and his girlfriend I will have to check out your station and see if I can pick it up.

May look into the Scotches if I have to move to another apartment somewhere else.

I’ll look for the one that has the 1/8 inch Jack on it though. Unless I could get a B…[Read more]

The reason I had posted it was because in the broadcasting full rum on Facebook there were several individuals who were in Broadcasting talking about some stations they had received while they were in different parts of the state.

Some of them didn’t go very far on the am broadcast band but also too they talked about some FM folks that were…[Read more]
