Used SainSonic Has Arrived, Variable Attenuator being planned.

Posted on July 15, 2016

Found a cheap “high hours” SainSonic AX-05B. Will be used with a homebrew variable attenuator. I’m going to mount antenna connectors, and a 100 ohm 1 watt potentiometer in a metal box. Ends of the pot to go across the transmit jack, Wiper of the pot to go to antenna. The pot will be adjusted from near zero slowly upward until I achieve the full 200′ mentioned in the FCC pages. Existing CC Cranes not quite giving me the full 200′, and, I “gotta catch ’em all!” 🙂
