I have been Busy in Busy Ky lately.
Busy with what you may ask? Well everything actually. Besides keep the roads hot with numerous errands in town, house repairs, dealing with a messed up neck and shoulder, i have been working on building the AM counterpart of 102.7 Busy FM.
My plan is to house the Talking House 5.0 inside of a 5 Gallon bucket from Lowes, mounting a piece of pipe (conduit) to the bucket and elevating the whole thing 10 feet off of the ground.
The pipe will either be loaded up as the antenna or will provide a way to extend the wire antenna provided with the transmitter. Not sure yet.
The STL will be a radio tuned to 102.7 FM feeding audio to the Talking House transmitter.
The FM transmitter is a Whole House 2.0 set to mono and has range of roughly 300 – 400 feet despite the fact that the signal travels through some metal and other housing materials.
The distance between the location for the AM transmitter and the studio where the FM transmitter is located is roughly 20 feet so there shouldn’t be any problem receiving a clear signal outside.
So in a nut shell or in this case, a 5 gallon plastic bucket that is what i am up to lately.
