@mark I moved the Procaster in the house and tuned it to 1560. What length of antenna wire should be used. Got plenty of #13 Gage Copper Wire and a alligator ciip from the hardware store.

@Mark, thank you for the explainer re: coax and wire. Seems basic to most int the hobby, but as my maths teacher used to say “there’s never a stupid question’, that’s why I asked. Can your clear answer cleared it up for me. Ill look forward to viewing that YouTube video too. Thank you for the link.

Once again, thank you so much for your considered thoughts on the issue. It is clear you are really trying to solve the problem, and that’s so difficult at such a remove.
If I may, I’d like to take the replies in turn.
@Mark The TH used the supplied TH200 power supply. It has, of course, two pins. We in Ireland use three pins. Moreover, we use a…[Read more]

Guys, Thank you very much for you considered replies. If I may, I’d like to take the suggestions in turn and offer a follow up.
@ArtisanRadio – You asked if I have gotten different results in different locations. I have used the TH with the internal setting (9ft) wire in various locations across my home city (suburban and inner city), and in…[Read more]

@Mark: It happens all the time.

@Mark: I think has a lot to do with demographics. For example, here in Florida much of the pirate activity is in the Miami area. There is a significant Haitian population and as such many of the stations are of that nature.

@Mark: It depends on the type of amplifier – its efficiency.

@Mark: Just joking about the simplicity. Yes, less in many times is more. Thinking about buying a Decade just for fun. I suspect your coverage range inside your home is fairly limited – but would be curious. If I remember correctly Artisan also was a Decade Man.
@Part 15 Engineer: I looked at your station. With all that’s running you would have…[Read more]
Hi, sorry I am days late to comment as I don’t check this area of the site too often….maybe I should although this question is good for the forum as it is informative for others and the forum needs some activity.
The ideal length is to measure 3 meters exactly and then cut about about 8″ off the 3 meter(9.8ft) length.
The Procaster comes with a…[Read more]
Hi Mark! Hope you’re doing O.K up there! I’m using my Smartphone to reply back to you. I may need to send a email address off here to show you the idea I have. I have a nice, kind of new storage building to put the Procaster in. To send audio to the Procaster from the studio in my house, C.Crane makes a Part 15, 50 milliwatt FM Transmitter that…[Read more]
This forum will let you post pictures as you see I did and they are bigger than the max size. You have to wait about 3 minutes for it to load but it will. Where you post on the forum you have the icons to add file/image. You just can’t add pictures here off the forum. But this discussion with your procaster set up is good on the forum as it’s of…[Read more]
Sorry I’m late here. My Building is a Wooden Built Building I bought almost three years ago. It’s real nice. I tried the antenna wire inside. I found that letting the wire hang from the ceiling of the Storage Building works best, however, the range didn’t improve much. Where I live from 1610 to 1700, it clear, nothing on any of them channels. I…[Read more]
