Total posts : 45366Hello Ultanium, I am eye-balling that TX2-20, because I just got me a TCU-30 Coupler.
Amazingly, I have an instruction manual for the TX2-20, given me by a college that abandoned carrier current.
Will the TX2-20 work with a TCU-30?
I may call you up or e-mail you. I can’t text because I don’t know that method.
Please hold my place in line while we look at this.

I am gonna pretend you didn’t ask that question!
Remember those pictures for that certain first episode of LPH and CC systems???
The first one will eliminate any concern…as well as answer the question. :p
Oh..those pictures are on your site. ๐

the one I had here.I hope Tommy isn’t getting out of Part 15

get a transmitter – maybe this one – that
would be great!Best Wishes,

I was referring to contacting Ultanium. Sorry if that read otherwise. ๐
Made contact and looking into things. I’m just really glad to see Carl’s Part 15 dream come true after being so patient for a decent deal on a CC system.
I think he should do an LPH episode on his first encounter/experience with his new CC station and the process of it’s installation and testing.
HINT HINT! ๐

Total posts : 45366… does this stuff come up when I have no funds?? What does it mean? Are the radio gods flipping me the bird?
I’m dyin’ to try some experimentation with CC here in Friday Harbor, could fix some interference problems inside buildings.
One question I have is: How do I negotiate with the utility … Orcas Power and Light Company (OPALCO)? It’s not your usual utility, it’s member owned (if you’re hooked up to power and pay bills, you get to vote). They seemed leery of letting me put a signal on their lines as they also use them for data transfer.

Total posts : 45366im disabled and never have funds and now the economy has gone to shit i can seem to get anything sold to get any funds to give him cash and he seems to have no interest in trading so that is my problem. im actually selling off all my excess and not gathering anymore. the hobby does not seem to pay for itself anymore and i cant afford the hobby on my income alone so i am just keeping my studio and a small amount of spares and offloading everything else. i’ve given up on trying to acquire C-C stuff it just does not appear to be in my future. i have noticed a psychology to people buying. when you need or want money no one seems to want to buy on principal. if you don’t need or want money people want to buy all day long from you. it’s like women. when you don’t have a g/f no woman wants you. when you find a g/f suddenly those same women find you attractive and will do everything they can to get with you.

It took me almost 4 full years to re-acquire all the CC gear I once had 3 decades ago. And during that 4 year span, I had seen excellent deals come at a time when no funds are available, and when funds were available, no deals to be found!
I think it’s a joke the radio gods play on all radio people, no matter what the unit is, they know we want that thing and play tricks on our expectations.

Best way I think would be to present the proposal in a very detailed technical manner. Research what they are using to send BPL on the lines, and on what frequency sets. Then create a graph clearly showing where your signal would be at compared to theirs and point out the FCC Part 15.209 out of band emission limits and the 15.221 field strength limits from the wire. Show them the type of equipment that will be used, the specifications and history of that equipment operational record in meeting and exceeding the 209 and 221 rules.
Propose something involving both the power company and the customers. Maybe offer the power company a regular time slot for a customer relations program about the power company, industry, safety issues, upcoming improvements or changes etc. For the customers, offer a time slot for a community involvement program ranging from simply meeting neighbors to get to know one another, which forms stronger and more secure neighborhoods than DHS could ever possibly imagine providing, maybe even do a “swap shop” where the community can buy and sell items they want or no longer need, sort of a radio version of the want ad’s.
Let the imagination kick in and I bet by tomorrow you will have a ton of ideas to attack that with!

Ain’t that the truth!!! (the g/f thing!) ๐
