Unlicensed Transmitter Identifications
We all know that AM & FM are the time-honored “extensions” that identify both the modulation method and band-spectrum of licensed transmitters, and since our unlicensed stations choose to imitate the “big boys” we use the same “tags” to mark our stations. I happen to operate KDX AM & FM.
Shortwave is another matter, where there is no definite modulation method, AM, CW and SSB, are a few examples, but if I called mine KDX-AM it would be misunderstood. So I use KDX-SW, at least relating to the band-spectrum.
How about Stream Servers, yet another type of transmitter? Aha! Here’s what we have decided to do…
At the present day we operate 2 of them, KDX-MP3 and KDX-OGG. Simple and clear.
