i believe it’s time to create psa’s supporting ham radio and urging the public to be outraged into urging their elected officials to support legislation extending prb 1 to landlords, hoa’s and restrictive covenants.
maybe some of the voice pros here can get together and come up with a some dramatic psa’s and each and every one of us can air them on our stations and also see if we cant get some NPR or educational stations to air them too.
it’s time to start fighting back against this crap.
Total posts : 45366legislation has been introduced an number of times over the last two decades supporting extending prb 1 to hoa’s and landlords, but because of very little awareness of the general public and huge coffers of hoa’s and landlords it died each time. if we make the public aware of ham radios importance and the chilling effect that CCRs and leases are ahving on ham radios ability to help during emergency the pro ham radio legislation may have a chance next time.
Total posts : 45366This has my vote. And its a vote well worth casting unlike the wasted votes we all put on these so called “S-elected” officials who are the very core of most of the problems facing us all.
It’s ok, while they sit back and create their fantasy perfect neighborhood world, the real world all around them is falling apart and eventually, reaches those fake Mayberryville worlds and soon seen out there amongst the Occupy groups.
Well when it all does go sideways and their cell phones and iPad’s and 500 channel cable tv is all black screens with the bouncing screen saver note “no signal present”, then at that point you will be seen as the savior of their pathetic world.
And at that point I would apply the golden rule.
Much of this problem is that fancy society has taken themselves into a false sense of security and safety behind a pamphlet of rules and property line fences. They put way too much faith into created sanctuaries and sold a bag of no worry chips and stick their head in the sand dip. And as long as the lights come on, as long as the tv has 500 worthless channels on, as long as the cell phone has full bars, as long as the sun shines and birds chirp, everything inside is perfect as perfect can be…and the outside has no meaning or place at all.
It seems that our society has to wait for something drastic to happen before it finally does something. That is sad. It’s like standing on a high speed train track watching that fast approaching train coming and not move out of the way until its too late.
They will probably throw in the old excuse of “majority” with this regardless of any vote. And you pointed out a very important fact…their coffers and buddy lawyers and golf club back patters are all in the loop.
It may be that you would have to find your way into that inner circle loop and fight the battle there. No doubt even that journey will be a good fight too..but not impossible to win!
